Job Title Building Surveyor Level Senior Surveyor or Associate Director Location Manchester Salary and Package £60,000–£75,000, depending on experience + benefits + hybrid working The Opportunity I'm recruiting a Building Surveyor in Manchester for a consultancy with around 300 people across the UK. The business works with major corporate occupiers and has a substantial pipeline of professional surveying work coming through its existing client teams. Retail and leisure will form an important part of the workload. If you enjoy getting to know a client's portfolio, understanding how its buildings are used and giving advice that helps it make practical decisions, this role is worth exploring. You'll join as the consultancy develops its dedicated Building Surveying service, with work available from the outset and the chance to influence how that service is delivered. The Work The role covers a broad range of professional instructions across the North and wider UK, including: Technical due diligence and pre-acquisition advice
Condition surveys and building defect investigations
Dilapidations claims and negotiations
Reports, specifications and advice on repair or improvement works
Instructions across retail, leisure and other corporate occupier portfolios
You'll take responsibility for your own projects and deal directly with clients. You'll also work with colleagues in other disciplines who already support these accounts, giving you an understanding of the client and its wider property requirements. As the Building Surveying service grows, you'll have input into its reporting standards and ways of working, with the opportunity to support less experienced surveyors. Who This Would Suit You're an MRICS Building Surveyor with a strong grounding in professional work and the confidence to advise clients without needing close supervision. You know how to investigate an issue, explain the options clearly and produce a report that helps a client decide what to do next. Experience with retail, leisure or multi-site occupier portfolios would be useful. The role could suit an Associate Director or a Senior Surveyor ready for greater responsibility. Why Consider It?
