Location: Aberdeen (preferable), Perth, Inverness or Glasgow

Role Type: Permanent, Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

Security Clearance: Must be eligible for UK SC clearance (5 years UK residency)

The Role

One of our utilities clients is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support the design, delivery, and ongoing improvement of secure network solutions within a critical infrastructure environment. This is a hands-on role focused on design, configuration, and support rather than purely physical installation. You will work across a complex operational network that connects remote sites, control systems, and operational facilities, helping ensure reliable and secure connectivity. You’ll be involved throughout the full lifecycle of network solutions - from concept and design through to implementation and steady-state operation - working closely with internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver network solutions in line with agreed security and operational standards
  • Provide support for operational technology (OT) networks
  • Maintain and understand LAN and WAN network topology (logical and physical)
  • Support the development of network strategy and roadmap activities
  • Identify network risks and contribute practical mitigation strategies
  • Work with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver resilient network solutions
