Senior Electrical Engineer β Data Centre Projects Location: Greater London, UK

Sentinel are partnering with an established MEP consultancy with a solid pipeline of high profile data centre work. They are looking to take on a senior lead as the first hire in an exciting new business department. Responsibilities β’ Leading the electrical design of hyperscale data centre projects including HV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, automatic transfer switching, PDUs, and lighting and small power.
β’ Managing the end-to-end electrical design process, ensuring outputs are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required quality standard.
β’ Overseeing the electrical procurement process - preparing performance specifications and tender packages, and technically evaluating contractor and equipment supplier submissions.
β’ Acting as the primary electrical technical lead for clients, contractors, and the wider design team throughout each project.
β’ Carrying out load calculations, fault level analysis, power quality studies, and system resilience assessments.
β’ Collaborating with Mechanical, Structural, and Civil disciplines to produce fully coordinated design packages.
β’ Ensuring designs comply with BS 7671, IEC 62305, EN 50600, Uptime Institute Tier standards, and client requirements.
β’ Mentoring and developing junior electrical engineers and CAD/BIM technicians.
