About the Opportunity:

Sentinel is partnering exclusively with a major international consultancy to appoint a Director to build and grow its digital consulting capability within their Health Consultancy division. This is an opportunity for an experienced management consultant who combines digital and technology expertise, a strong commercial mindset, and healthcare or relevant public sector experience. Rather than stepping into an established product team, you will help shape the proposition, develop client relationships, win new work and build the team needed to deliver it. The wider health practice works across digital and AI advisory, service redesign, executive advisory, transformation and change management, supporting major programmes across the healthcare sector. With ambitious growth plans into 2027, the business is investing in its digital health offering and looking for a leader who can turn market opportunities into a growing practice. You’ll have autonomy, direct access to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape the direction of the offering from an early stage.

Responsibilities:

  • Build the practice: Develop the digital health proposition, identify market opportunities and establish a clear go-to-market strategy.
  • Drive commercial growth: Build a pipeline of opportunities, develop senior client relationships, lead bids and proposals, and win new engagements.
  • Shape digital health solutions: Advise healthcare clients on digitally enabled products, services and solutions, translating complex business and clinical needs into practical approaches.
  • Lead client engagements: Provide strategic direction across complex digital health programmes, working with multidisciplinary teams and technology partners.
  • Build the team: Recruit, develop and lead product, design and delivery specialists as the practice grows.
  • Develop market presence: Build relationships across the healthcare sector and contribute to thought leadership, partnerships and the wider growth of the health practice.

Requirements:

  • Senior-level experience within a management consultancy, technology consultancy or comparable professional services business, ideally at Director level or equivalent.
  • A strong track record in digital healthcare, healthcare technology or technology-enabled healthcare transformation.
  • Evidence of developing client relationships, originating opportunities, leading bids and winning consulting work.
  • Experience building or expanding a consulting proposition, service offering, team or practice.
  • The ability to engage credibly with senior healthcare stakeholders and shape solutions around complex client challenges.
  • A collaborative, commercially minded approach, with the leadership skills to bring people together and grow a high-performing team.
  • Experience across the NHS, healthcare providers, integrated care systems or wider public-sector health organisations.
  • Expertise in digital product development, solution design, data and AI, digital transformation or healthcare technology strategy is desirable.
