Role
Sentinel is working with an AI research team that is building next-generation infrastructure to accelerate scientific discovery. We are looking for several engineers to help design, build, and operate cutting‑edge GPU clusters in a hybrid cloud and HPC environment. This is a rare opportunity to work on large‑scale, high‑performance systems that support AI research.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage high-performance GPU clusters for AI training and inference
- Optimise data pipelines, storage, and networking for efficiency at scale
- Implement robust monitoring, security, and lifecycle management for HPC and cloud systems
- Work with research and applied AI teams to forecast GPU and storage requirements, and streamline ML experimentation pipelinesi>
- Operate in a hybrid environment, combining on‑prem HPC and public cloud infrastructure
Skills/Experience
- Experienced with HPC/GPU clusters and a deep understanding of GPU hardware and distributed computing
- Strong cloud engineering background, ideally with experience in hybrid cloud and on‑prem HPC environments
- Proficient with containerisation, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code tools
- A first‑principles thinker, capable of designing optimal architectures and resolving performance bottlenecks
- Thrives in high‑autonomy, cutting‑edge environments and enjoys solving rare technical challenges
