Experienced Hydraulic engineer required for work out on site or at customer premises. Working from a fully kitted out mobile van (for commuting use also) you will attend site, diagnose and repair or replace hydraulic equipment as required.

A hydraulic sales, manufacturing and repair company; a small family business which has seen substantial and steady growth in the last few years. Workload is high and we are keen to maintain and build on this demand. We have invested in new facilities including a new staff welfare area and an expanded customer area, new tooling- including a new cnc lathe, and increased our total staffing by four over the last few years. We have also doubled our physical footprint to allow us to store vastly increased stocks of hose and new product ranges. Our services are in high demand and now we are looking for someone to enhance our mobile business further and join us on a challenging but rewarding expansion program.

Essential skillset:

  • Suitable experience as a hydraulic engineer, diagnosing and repairing hydraulic equipment or suitable experience as a plant fitter with good experience of maintenance of hydraulic systems.

Regular duties:

  • Responding to customer requests for a hydraulic engineer within the local area.
  • Diagnosing, repairing or selecting the appropriate action to achieve a solution.
  • Selecting correct parts required and either supplying from stock or liaising with the Sentex sales team to procure the parts.
  • Manufacture of hose assemblies on demand and to customer order.
  • Maintaining vehicle part stocks and maintaining tools in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Pro-actively following-up customer enquiries and service work.
  • Assisting with coordinating workflow to ensure customer deadlines are met and logging work required/completed on a bespoke web-based tracking system.
  • Call-out and out of hours cover is required, with additional pay.

Occasional duties:

  • Some work will be completed at Sentex premises as required.
  • General manual handling (some products we handle are bulky and or heavy).
  • Other internal duties as required.

Work hours are Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm. Call-out and out of hours cover is required.

  • Friendly and personable, in a customer facing role.

Required skillset:

  • All physical aptitude associated with the essential skillset.
  • Health and safety / safe working knowledge.
  • Measuring skills.
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic or industrial product knowledge hugely advantageous.
  • Previous hose assembly experience advantageous.
  • Team-working.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • All other required skills/knowledge can be established or improved through training.

Pay will be dependent upon experience.
