Hours/Shift: Full Time (36 hr/week)
Role Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) performs competent nursing care guided by the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN adheres to standards of practice and professional performance, demonstrating clinical knowledge and skills suited to the clinical area.
Department Overview: The PVSU at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is a 16-bed unit specializing in treating patients on mechanical ventilators, mainly transferred from ICU. The unit emphasizes rehabilitation through physical therapy, respiratory care, and mental stimulation, with a nurse/patient ratio of 3:1 based on acuity.
New Graduates Welcome: We encourage new grads and experienced nurses transitioning into this specialty. Our 11-week Transition to Practice program supports new nurses through a comprehensive 6-month residency.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing (required)
- Bachelor's or Master's in Nursing (preferred)

- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
