Sentara is hiring a Radiation Therapist at Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk Virginia. Sign on Bonus up to $15,000 offered for qualified candidates.

Job Description

Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
  • Deliver brachytherapy treatment
  • Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
  • Reviewing patient records for accuracy
  • Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
  • Maintaining patient records, reports, and files

All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire.

Education

Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED

Certification/Licensure

Required to pass boards within 6-months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire.
