Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers. Supervises and assumes responsibility for care provided by team members.

Education

  • Bachelor\’s Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Master\’s Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy

Certification/Licensure

  • Physical Therapy License (Required)

Experience

  • Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions by accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.
  • Provides effective instruction to patients and families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
  • Initiates, develops, and maintains collaborative interactions with team members, patients, and families to improve outcomes.
  • Selects and performs appropriate assessment procedures.
  • Establishes and updates formal care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Participates in at least 2-3 professional activities to promote clinical specialty and support Sentara\’s mission.
  • Demonstrates productivity and efficiency in daily operations.
