Overview:
Department Overview: Join our 25-bed Postpartum unit, specializing in high-risk mother/baby care. We welcome both new and experienced candidates to grow with our team!
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) and one of the following:
- Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, or
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or
- National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), or
- US Navy Hospital Corps School Completion, or
- Emergency Services (EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic), or
- Current student in a clinical program (beyond prerequisites) with at least one semester completed in RN, LPN, RT, or PT, or
- Recent (within last three years) experience as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.
Certification/Licensure:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Hospital Overview: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility with the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads. It serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
