Responsible for providing direct inpatient clinical care and managing medical problems of acutely ill, hospitalized, adult, non-surgical patients. The Hospitalist leads the interdisciplinary team to improve efficiency and facilitate continuum of care for patients from admission through discharge. This includes general adult medicine, internal medicine consults as requested, critical care management, and management of patients with comorbidities. The Hospitalist will perform duties adhering to the highest standards of ethics and conduct, acting in the best interest of Sentara Medical Group and Sentara Healthcare, supporting our mission, vision, and values to optimize patient health and well-being.
Residency and board certification must be in the area of specialty. Board-eligible physicians will be considered. Certification must be obtained within 4 years of eligibility.
