City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Sentara Health is currently seeking a full-time remote Actuarial Analyst II . Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift Remote opportunities available in the following states: Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington (state), West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. Standard Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Responsibilities: Assist with functions typical of a qualified health actuary including IBNR calculation, rating factors, rate development, and filings for the BOI. Develop and maintain rates for government programs and support new product development. Provide actuarial input to management and report on financial status of products. Minimum Qualifications: At least 2 years of actuarial analysis experience. Completion of three actuarial exams with ongoing progress towards SOA credential. Experience in at least three of the following areas: IBNR and reserve setting Pricing and filing support for various group products Medicare Advantage bid filing Managed Medicaid evaluation Provider contract and profit/withhold evaluations Product experience monitoring Reinsurance/stop-loss reporting Education: Bachelor\’s degree Compensation and Benefits: Base salary ranges from $60,756 to $101,254, with additional incentives and benefits including health plans, paid time off, parental leave, disability, life insurance, 401(k) match, tuition assistance, student debt repayment, professional development, pet insurance, legal resources, and potential annual bonuses.
