Overview:
Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist II.
Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift
Position Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for daily operational tasks related to revenue cycle accounts receivable. Responsibilities include follow-up, managing requests from patients and payers, handling appeals, resolving edits and denials, monitoring and processing write-offs, charge corrections, and reconciliation of claim files.
Standard working hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET).
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years\’ experience in insurance claims or medical billing.
- Diploma/Certification in Medical Insurance Billing and Coding (can substitute for experience).
- Experience with Epic, GECB, or Allscripts preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
