Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a Full-Time Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness Manager.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with business continuity emergency/ disaster planning, disaster-related resources, and familiarization with national, state, and regional standards.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Level Degree
  • Five (5) years of business continuity emergency/disaster planning required in lieu of Bachelor’s degree. Bachelor’s degree must be obtained within five (5) years of hire date.
  • Master’s Level Degree preferred

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Certified Professional Continuity Practitioner, or
  • Associate Business Continuity Professional, or
  • Certified Emergency Manager, or
  • Incident Command System and National Incident Management System Instructor, or
  • First Receiver Awareness Instructor, or
  • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) preferred.

Status

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Coordination and oversight of all emergency operations and disaster preparedness procedures for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital
  • Budget development and grant distribution/process/system/program analysis, development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation
  • In collaboration with Sentara Healthcare, Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association (VHHA), and the Eastern Regional Healthcare Coalition, you will provide leadership, coordination and oversight of the equipment, personnel and activities related to disaster response and preparedness
  • Projects, committees, physician group committees
  • Note: This position is considered a subject expert and does not have responsibility for FTEs.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.
