Sign on bonus available for qualified candidates. The Medical Assistant provides patient care and administrative/clerical tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). One of the required certifications upon hire is Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or EMT Basic Certification (EMT).

Location: Virginia Beach, VA. Work Shift: First (Days).

Responsibilities

  • The Medical Assistant maintains a safe environment; identifies, addresses, and incorporates principles of safety for patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Provides patient care tasks, procedures, and administrative duties (as appropriate).
  • Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess situations, consider multiple perspectives, develop realistic action plans, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Exhibits the specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, effective inter‑departmental interactions, and adherence to department and system policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Is productive and efficient in daily operations, utilizing appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible.

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Education

  • HS Diploma required.

Certification/Licensure

  • CCMA, CMA, RMA, EMT-B or Paramedic certification required.
