Position Overview:
As a Product Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping our portfolio of products. Highly skilled and a visionary, to lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers. This role requires a strategic thinker who can guide the creative process from concept to execution, foster innovation, and ensure that design solutions align with business goals and user needs.
Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth. Assign and prioritise design tasks, balancing workload and deadlines.
- Project Management: Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables. Ensure that projects are executed efficiently, meeting all milestones and staying within budget.
- Creative Direction: Set the creative vision for projects, ensuring alignment with the company\’s brand and objectives. Review and approve design concepts and final deliverables.
- Quality Control: Maintain high-quality design standards throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct regular design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate design resources effectively to meet project demands. Evaluate the need for additional resources and collaborate with HR for recruitment as necessary.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clients, internal teams, and external partners to understand project requirements and deliver effective design solutions.
- Design Trends and Innovation: Stay updated on design trends and industry best practices, integrating innovative ideas into projects.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Product Design or a related field (Master\’s degree a bonus).
- Proven experience as a senior designer or design manager, with a portfolio showcasing a range of design projects.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of current design trends and technologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Working Hours:
Monday – Wednesday 8:30-5 office based in Castleford.
Thursday – Friday working from home. 4pm finish Friday.
