An engineering company specialising in air measurement and ducting testing.

We are seeking a skilled TIG welder that is looking for long-term stability and varied project work, to join our production team.

Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the production team to ensure our high-quality finished products are completed in a timely fashion for customer delivery.

The technician will be required to weld stainless steel assemblies of diameters down to 4mm and wall thicknesses down to 0.7mm.

We are offering the role as Full Time position (P/T could be considered for exceptional candidate).

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • Proven experience with TIG Welding especially with precision stainless steel assemblies.
  • Background in an engineering or fabrication environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of turning, milling and drilling of components for fabrication.
  • Competent understanding of manufacturing processes and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Setting up and operating fabrication workshop machinery – Guillotines/ Presses/ Folders.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and products.
  • Must have good time keeping and organised approach to tasks.
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to multi-task.
  • A proactive team player, with good English communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ensure work is completed to a high standard.
  • Knowledge of TQM, checking and quality inspection of own work.
  • Fit and ideally able to lift to 25kg alone. Other Advantageous Skills/Qualifications:
  • BTEC Level 3/HNC Engineering would be of benefit or a technical qualification in Welding over and above C&G L2.
  • A reliable, self-motivated individual who takes pride in their work.
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Knowledge in brazing (silver soldering) would be advantageous.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to design own jigs/fixtures to aid process improvement.
  • Proficient with basic PC software to complete route cards in our MRP system with minimal training.
  • Previously worked in an ISO 9001, (and ISO 45001/ ISO 14001) company.
  • Driving License (access to vehicle to aid commute to factory location.) Benefits:
