Job Description
Sensia is seeking a (Senior) Project Engineer to lead the specification, design, fabrication, and testing of Liquid and Gas Metering or Sampling Systems. This role involves full technical management of assigned projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget while meeting or exceeding customer requirements. This is a hybrid role based at one of our UK offices: Tunbridge Wells, Aberdeen, or Malton.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage technical aspects of assigned projects, from initiation to completion.
- Develop cost-effective designs that meet agreed specifications and standards.
- Prepare technical requisitions and procurement packages for fabrication, instrumentation, and assembly.
- Oversee system testing, including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), ensuring compliance.
- Provide direction to Mechanical and Electrical designers to generate project documentation.
- Support project management, inspections, and technical compliance with Sensiaβs Quality team.
- Collaborate with vendors and clients for system approvals and testing, acting as primary technical contact with customer.
- Offer technical expertise to the sales team for proposals and cost control.
- Mentor and support junior engineering team members.
The Individual
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or HND and related field experience highly desirable.
- Electrical engineering experience would also be advantageous.
- Ability to analyse and interpret customer specifications and international standards into coherent package designs.
- Experience in layout and mechanical structural design of skid-mounted packages preferably electro-mechanical systems in oil & gas industry.
- Familiarity with metering or sampling systems.
- Knowledge of Flow measurement devices and their requirement for integration into skid packages.
- Knowledge of ASME design codes such as B31.3: 2016 and ASME IX or equivalent NORSOK and ISO standard, including knowledge of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED/PER).
- Knowledge of Metering & Proving or Sampling standards (API & ISO).
- Knowledge of specification of Electrical equipment certified to ATEX or IECEX.
- Ability to problem solve to achieve technical/budget/schedule goals.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project).
- Able to work within an ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management System.
- Strong communication skills at all levels.
- Strong team player.
