Are you a technically skilled engineer with a passion for safety and compliance? We’re looking for a proactive Smoke Ventilation Service Engineer to join our growing Passive Fire team. This site-based role is vital in ensuring the performance and reliability of smoke ventilation systems across a range of building types. You’ll be part of a dedicated service and maintenance team, helping to protect lives and property by keeping critical fire safety systems operating at their best.
What you will be doing
- Servicing and maintaining smoke ventilation systems, including AOVs, control panels, and pressure systems.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs to restore full system functionality.
- Conducting inspections and testing in line with BS EN 12101 and other fire safety standards.
- Completing service reports, compliance documentation, and customer feedback forms.
- Liaising with clients and site teams to coordinate access and communicate findings.
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Supporting commissioning and handover of new installations.
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and stock levels for site readiness.
Who we are looking for
- Experience servicing smoke ventilation or fire safety systems.
- Strong understanding of BS 7346, BS EN 12101, and Approved Document B.
- Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Electrical or mechanical qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds).
- Experience in commercial or residential building environments.
- Knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems).
- CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification.
