Your next role

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Small Works Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you\’ll play a crucial part in supporting fire safety operations by delivering small-scale engineering projects and maintenance tasks. Your expertise will help ensure all fire safety systems are compliant, reliable, and optimised, making a real difference to the safety and confidence of the people and businesses we serve.

What you will be doing

  • Install and commission small to medium-scale fire alarm projects, working with both addressable and non-addressable systems
  • Commission systems from a range of manufacturers
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to plan and deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring every interaction is professional and solutions-focused
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently while building positive customer relationships
  • Complete reports, timesheets, and expenses accurately and on time
  • Attend scheduled appointments punctually and maintain a clean and tidy work environment
  • Communicate promptly with the office in the event of major system issues or site challenges
  • Represent the company professionally on all customer sites

Who we are looking for

  • Advanced experience working with fire alarm systems
  • FIA Units 1, 2 / 3, and 5
  • Proven skills in installation and commissioning
  • Solid understanding of electrical installation procedures in the fire and security industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to produce clear reports and documentation
  • A proactive problem-solver who builds trust and rapport with clients
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • A high level of attention to detail, initiative, and professionalism
