We're looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our Finance team at Senseco. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring our weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with UK legislation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and providing a high level of service to colleagues across the business. You'll be part of a collaborative team where attention to detail, accuracy, and continuous improvement are highly valued.
What you will be doing
As our Payroll Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day payroll function and help ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the end-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and employee data.
- Responding to payroll queries and resolving discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
- Assisting with payroll reporting and providing information to support business decision-making.
- Ensuring payroll activities remain compliant with UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Supporting payroll process improvements and helping to identify efficiencies within the payroll function.
- Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure payroll information is accurate and up to date.
Who we are looking for
We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering an accurate payroll service. You don't need to meet every requirement to apply, but the following experience and skills would be beneficial:
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within a busy payroll environment.
- Experience processing weekly and/or monthly payrolls.
- A good understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory reporting requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent levels of accuracy.
- Good Excel skills and confidence using payroll and HR systems.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A high level of discretion when handling confidential employee information.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
