Deputy care manager in West Bromwich

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We're looking for a Deputy Care Manager to join our home in West Bromwich, rated Good by CQC, supporting people with learning disabilities and a range of health conditions to live full, active lives. Working alongside the Registered Care Manager, you'll help lead the team, split your time between admin and hands-on support, and play a key part in making sure every day runs smoothly for the people we support.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, split between 22.5 hours of admin and 15 hours working directly alongside the team, paying £29,367 per year (£15.06 p/h).

What you'll be doing

• Leading and developing the staff team alongside the Registered Care Manager, through supervisions and team meetings
• Planning the rota, covering absence and inducting new starters
• Getting to know the people we support, and shaping their plans and reviews around what matters to them
• Getting hands-on where needed, including 2:1 support
• Joining in with activities like cycling, hydro pool sessions and outdoor trips
• Helping keep the service safe, compliant and running smoothly
• Sharing on-call cover, with some evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Who we're looking for

• Someone with experience leading a team in care or support
• Comfortable providing hands-on care to people with learning disabilities and complex needs
• Confident with rotas, person-centred planning and admin
• A full manual UK driving licence is desirable, we have a 9-seater for outings and appointments
• BSL knowledge is desirable
• 24 days’ holiday + bank holidays; increasing with length of service
