Sense has a fantastic opportunity for an Activity Coordinator to join our team at our College in Streatley. This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 4:15pm .
This is a varied and rewarding role where youll lead engaging activities across our adult social care provision, supporting people with a range of disabilities to learn, participate and make the most of opportunities both at our Sense Centre and within the local community.
Youll plan and deliver a varied programme of educational, recreational and leisure activities, helping individuals develop valuable and relevant life skills. Activities take place across a range of environments, including the pool, gym, kitchen and art room, as well as out and about in the local community.
Alongside delivering activities, youll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive learning environment. Youll contribute to the planning, development and implementation of activity sessions, provide varying levels of support with personal care where required, and line manage and supervise a small team of Support Workers.
This could be a great opportunity for someone with experience in adult social care who enjoys being creative, bringing people together and seeing the difference that meaningful activities can make to someones confidence, wellbeing and independence.
Key skills and experience
-
Level 3 in Adult Social Care or willing to work towards this

Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities
-
Experience of implementing activity programmes with a strong emphasis on learning outcomes, in a variety of environments (pool, gym, kitchen, art room and community based activities)

An understanding of how creative activities can enhance the lives and wellbeing of the people we work with.

Experience of liaison with community groups and other service providers

A progressive outlook and commitment to equality and diversity issues including disability and the empowerment of deafblind people
