Sense is recruiting an Assistant Shop Manager to work 15 hours per week at our shop in Sherbourne on a permanent basis. This role is part of our growing network of over 120 shops, and you will lead and inspire an enthusiastic team of volunteers, driving standards, operational excellence, and customer service to maximise vital income generation for the charity.

Responsibilities

  • Build, train and inspire a great team of volunteers
  • Deliver superb shop standards, offers, and customer engagement
  • Drive stock generation and community engagement
  • Support the shop in achieving the annual goal of serving over four million customers, helping raise brand awareness and income for the charity

Key Skills & Experience

  • Self‑motivated, creative, excellent communicator committed to charity retail
  • Experience inspiring a team to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong eye for detail to ensure a safe, clean, and inviting environment for customers, staff and volunteers
  • Retail experience or a previous team‑leader position
  • Willingness to work bank holidays, weekends, and across 7 days of the week (flexibility required)

  • Subject to a DBS check (level dependent on the nature of the role)
