We are currently seeking a BSL Communicator Guide (Community Support Worker) to join our team in Coseley, Dudley. This role is permanent, working 5 hours per week.

This is a rewarding opportunity to assist an individual with Usher syndrome in accessing the community for social and leisure activities. To be considered for this role, you must have a BSL Level 3 qualification or equivalent to effectively communicate with the individual through BSL and hands-on signing.

As a Communicator Guide, you will help the individual engage in activities they enjoy and create meaningful experiences. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Accompanying them on food shopping trips
  • Attending appointments
  • Participating in social and leisure activities such as bowling, swimming, and visiting the park

Additionally, you will support the individual in making their own choices and deciding how they want to spend their day.

Your required skills and experiences:

  • You require a full UK driving license and Business Insurance and must be willing to drive your own vehicle (Mileage paid 0.45 pence per mile).
  • A minimum of a Level 3 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is required.
  • Experience in Care and confidence working in a lone working setting is desirable.
