We are looking for a passionate and motivated person to join our fantastic team as a Care Team Leader at our Day service in Barnet, London. This role is on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Touch Base South East is one of Sense's most active day services - a purpose-built centre in the heart of Barnet supporting around 50 individuals through a packed programme of social activities and education-based sessions. Every day looks different, every session is tailored to the people in the room, and the focus is always on fun, connection, and celebrating the people we support.
What you'll be doing:
- Supervising a team of support workers, including carrying out regular supervision sessions and appraisals
- Coaching and guiding staff to maintain the highest standards of support
- Coordinating activity timetables and ensuring facilitated sessions run smoothly
- Supporting the recruitment and induction of new team members
- Supporting the people we support to take part in meaningful, enjoyable activities and access their communities
- Contributing to person-centred plans and guidelines, working alongside families and other professionals where appropriate
- Assisting the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service
- Keeping accurate records and ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are upheld
Who we're looking for:
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities or sensory impairment
- Some experience of supervising or mentoring others in a care or support setting
- A positive, person-centred approach and a genuine commitment to empowering the people we support
- Good written communication skills and confidence with documentation and record-keeping
- Hold, or be working towards, a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
- A commitment to personal development, including a willingness to work towards BSL Level 1
