About the service

Our team at our Mosspark Service was recently awarded Excellent grades by the Care Inspectorate — recognition of the outstanding, person‑centred care we provide every day. At Mosspark, you’ll find a small but dedicated team supporting two individuals who are primarily deafblind with complex and diverse needs. Some may not communicate verbally, so we focus on value‑based communication, tailoring our support to meet each person’s unique way of connecting with the world. Every day here is different and meaningful. We are committed to empowering the people we support to live fulfilling, independent lives through personalised care and engaging activities. Our team works closely together to create a safe, welcoming environment where individuals feel valued and encouraged to thrive.

Who do we support?

At our Mosspark service, we support two vibrant females, aged between 39 and 50, who live in a shared house in the Pollok area of Glasgow. They have various health conditions, including epilepsy, deaf‑blindness, and mobility issues. You will work on a 1:1 basis assisting them with day‑to‑day living, encouraging them to live happy meaningful lives and achieve their personal goals/ambitions both at home and in the wider community.

Your role

Your role will be centred around building trusting relationships as a foundation to assist with practical tasks such as:

  • Support within their own homes with personal care, housework, administering medication, meal preparation, support with finances, companionship, etc.
  • Liaise with families and other professionals to provide the best quality care.
  • Promote independence and individuality according to their Support Plan.
  • Record daily tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Work as part of a team, effectively communicating with the staff team, families, and people supported.

The ladies we support are sociable and always up for fun! They enjoy local walks, shopping sprees, and movie nights at the cinema. Tuesday nights are a highlight at their favourite disco club, where they meet friends and dance the night away. They look forward to their annual holidays and love planning exciting social activities with friends and family, ensuring every day is filled with joy and laughter.

Shift pattern

Our Mosspark Service provides round‑the‑clock support every day of the year. As a Female Support Worker, you will work 35 hours over 7 days of the week therefore weekend work is required. Shifts include a mix of early shifts (07:30 – 14:30) and late shifts (14:30 – 21:30).
