Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose.
We're looking for a Support Worker to join our team at Newton Court in Paston, Peterborough for a permanent role working 30 hours per week on a two-week rota including mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, paying £13.00 per hour.
A BSL Level 1 or 2 qualification is essential for this role, as is a full UK driving licence.
You'll be supporting someone with complex communication and mobility needs to live as independently as possible, both at home and out in the community.
We are looking for someone who is
- Confident using BSL to communicate
- Comfortable supporting people with mobility needs including walking, guiding, and wheelchair use
- Able to work on their own initiative and use good judgement when working independently
- Warm, caring, and empathetic
- Willing to attend training and develop in their role
This role might include supporting people with
- Getting out into the community for shopping, gym, swimming, and social activities
- Accessing services such as GP surgeries, banks, and leisure facilities
- Personal care and hygiene
- Finances and medication
- Building and maintaining independence at home and in the community
- 24 days’ holiday + bank holidays; increasing with length of service
- Free DBS Check
