We’re looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our People Team, supporting the Head of HR business partnering and HR business partners to deliver high-impact, strategic people partnerships across Sense. As a HR Manager, you will lead a team of four HR Advisors and take responsibility for delivering a high-quality, responsive and consistent HR advice service with the HR business partnering team and across the organisation. This is also a hands-on, operational role involving employee relations casework and day-to-day support to managers.
Key objectives:
- Deliver a consistent, high-quality HR advice service across the organisation.
- Lead and develop the HR Advice team to provide responsive, practical support to managers.
- Ensure effective collaboration between HR advisors and HR business partnering team within a functional team structure.
- Ensure employee relations matters are managed effectively, fairly and in line with policy and legislation.
- Support managers to build confidence and capability in managing their teams.
- Maintain effective and efficient HR processes that support operational delivery.
- Enhance the HR business partnering and HR advice team’s ability to identify emerging people risks and opportunities through robust data insights.
About you:
You’ll be an experienced, people-focused HR professional who can confidently balance strategic influence with operational leadership.
Essential requirements:
- CIPD level 5 qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in HR, particularly in employee relations and case management.
- Proven track record of managing or supervising an HR advice team and a strong background in operational HR.
- Strong expertise in workforce planning, capacity modelling and resource optimisation.
- Deep knowledge of employment law, risk mitigation strategies and pragmatic problem-solving skills.
- Experience of working within, or alongside, an HR business partnering model and demonstrable experience of improving HR processes and stakeholder service delivery.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in the charity, not-for-profit, or social care sector.
- Experience of delivering people projects or acting as a subject matter expert in a specialist HR area.
