We are looking for an experienced Solutions Delivery Manager to join our fantastic IT team at Sense! This is a 12 month fixed term contract, hybrid role based at our Selly Oak office in Birmingham, with occasional travel to other Sense locations, including Loughborough and London.

You will oversee the release management lifecycle, ensuring technical changes, upgrades and new solutions are planned, tested and successfully deployed across both cloud and on-premise environments.

Working closely with internal teams, stakeholders and third-party suppliers, you will coordinate releases from development and testing through to go-live and transition into business-as-usual. We need you to bring structure to complex technical change, manage risks, and ensure our users remain at the heart of how solutions are delivered.

With significant investment in Microsoft technologies, including our Dynamics-based CRM, this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape how technology change is delivered across Sense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end release management lifecycle across multiple applications and technology platforms.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate releases, ensuring dependencies, risks and requirements are clearly understood.
  • Lead go-live activity, including deployment planning, implementation checklists and transition into operational support.
  • Manage releases through development, testing, pre-production and live environments.
  • Develop and maintain release calendars, deployment runbooks, implementation plans and supporting documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate acceptance testing and report on outcomes.
  • Identify and proactively manage risks that could impact release scope, quality or timescales.
  • Work with internal teams and suppliers to ensure technical change is delivered successfully and within budget.
  • Support supplier selection and procurement activity and manage the delivery of supplier-led workstreams.
  • Ensure releases comply with change control, technical architecture and governance requirements.
  • Continuously review and improve release management processes, making delivery simpler, more reliable and more effective.
  • Champion the needs of users, ensuring technology changes are accessible, inclusive and straightforward to use.

About you

You will be an organised and delivery-focused technology professional who enjoys bringing together people, processes and technical teams to make change happen successfully.

You will bring:

  • Experience delivering technical changes and releases within a complex technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of release and deployment management processes.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies and Software-as-a-Service solutions.
  • Experience working within Agile environments, alongside an understanding of waterfall delivery approaches.
  • Good knowledge of ITIL best practice, particularly change and release management.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience coordinating internal teams, third-party suppliers and multiple workstreams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to managing risks and issues.
  • Experience developing and maintaining release management processes, plans and documentation.
  • Supplier management experience and an understanding of procurement processes.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering an excellent, inclusive user experience.

Experience within the charity or social care sector would be an advantage.
