We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Data protection lead to help shape and strengthen data protection across Sense.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our data and technology team as we deliver an ambitious programme of digital and data transformation. You will be the organisation's subject matter expert for data protection, helping colleagues across Sense improve compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for data protection queries and advice across the organisation.
- Manage and continuously improve our Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) process.
- Lead and support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments.
- Own and manage our data protection management platform, including risk registers, KPIs and reporting.
- Support the review and development of data protection policies, procedures and guidance.
- Collaborate with the Data Protection Officer, Caldicott Guardian and wider technology teams to support organisational compliance.
About you
- Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act and PECR.
- Data Protection Foundation, Practitioner or equivalent qualification.
- Experience of developing and implementing data protection processes.
- Experience creating and maintaining Information Asset Registers and Records of Processing Activities.
- Experience conducting and supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Strong understanding of data subject rights and DSAR management.
- Experience using Microsoft information management tools, particularly SharePoint.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and confidently.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for promoting best practice.
- Experience working within a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Purview.
- Understanding of cyber security principles and the role of users in protecting organisational information.
- Experience delivering training, awareness campaigns or organisational communications.
- Experience working with governance, risk management or compliance reporting frameworks.
