Overview
This full-time onsite position offers great opportunities for career growth. It is a permanent, full-time vacancy working 22.5 hours, three days per week, for 41 weeks of the year (term time). Successful applicants will support young people with special education needs as they prepare for adulthood.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out initial and ongoing assessment of students
- Design and monitor Individual Learning Plans
- Deliver effective teaching that yields high outcomes for students
- Produce written reports for each student as required
- Adopt and use appropriate communication methods for individual students
- Act as mentor for nominated students and liaise regularly with their parents, carers or designated support workers
Required Skills & Experience
- Higher-level teaching qualification (e.g., Certificate in Education, PGCE)
- Level 5 Diploma in English and Maths Level 2
- Understanding of the needs of young people with a range of special education needs
- Ability to use assessment to plan and review learning
- Model professional and positive behaviour for staff and students
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
