At Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We're looking for Support Workers to join our Touch Base South East day service in Barnet , London; a vibrant, purpose-built centre in the heart of the community, supporting around 50 individuals. This role offers 32.5 hours per week at 14.58 per hour (inclusive of inner London allowance).
Touch Base South East is anything but ordinary. Our centre includes a heated indoor swimming pool, gym, music suite, art room with pottery wheels, training kitchen, multi-sensory room, outdoor sensory garden, and a local allotment where the people we support grow their own vegetables. You could be supporting a community day trip one day and a hydrotherapy session the next; and everything in between.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting people with a wide range of activities including cookery, art, music, and community trips
- Assisting with personal care, medication, and wellbeing
- Supporting people with finances and day-to-day independence
- Accompanying people out into the local community, including work placements and social activities
Who we're looking for:
- Someone enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely passionate about supporting others
- A positive, can-do attitude with the energy to thrive in a busy, active environment
- A full manual UK driving licence is beneficial for community trips
- Knowledge of BSL, Makaton, or a similar communication method is a bonus
- Willingness to attend training and develop in the role
