About the Role
Sense is recruiting for an Administrative Officer to join our fantastic Environment, Property & Procurement Team based in our offices in Selly Oak, Birmingham on a hybrid basis.
The successful applicant will play a central role in day-to-day office operations, including managing correspondence, organizing meetings, maintaining records, and supporting documentation needs. As part of a charitable organization, this role helps ensure smooth internal processes that support our broader mission and commitment to sustainability and procurement. You will be responsible for updating databases with the Environment, Property and Procurement departments and 3rd party platforms.
The main duties and responsibilities include:
- Coordinate calendars, schedule meetings, and prepare meeting materials
- Draft, proofread, and manage correspondence and documentation
- Support implementation of sustainability programs and campaigns
- Maintain accurate records for procurement, environmental and property data
- Handle general office duties such as data entry, scanning, responding to inquiries, and supply coordination
- Monitor shared mailboxes and deal with daily emails accurately and efficiently
- Assist with invoice processing and keeping track of internal approvals and documentation
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience in an administrative role, preferably in a nonprofit or charity setting desirable
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and comfort handling confidential documents
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
