About the role

Sense have a fantastic opportunity for an Activity Coordinator to join our team at our College in Dereham. This is a permanent role working 15 hours per week (8:45-4:15 Monday and Tuesday). As an Activity Coordinator you will be responsible for leading activities across the adult social care provision. You will encourage individuals to develop valuable, relevant life skills and experience a wide range of educational, recreational and leisure pursuits. You will support people with a range of disabilities to participate in a number of different activities offered at our Sense Centre, and to access facilities in the local community. You will also supervise team members and provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks. You will lead activity sessions based in both the day centre and the wider local community. You will contribute to the planning, development and implementation of sessions as well as maintaining the area as a safe and functional learning environment. You will also supervise Support Workers.

About you

Experience of implementing activities with an emphasis on learning outcomes is essential as is a progressive outlook to disability issues. An artistic, creative or sporting background is desirable. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and also be an excellent communicator, and team working skills, literacy, an awareness of disability needs and flexibility.
