We are looking for a qualified and forward‑thinking Finance systems accountant to lead the development, optimisation and transformation of our finance systems. This is a key role within the Finance team, responsible for ensuring our systems are efficient, reliable and fit for the future, while driving automation, digital innovation and the responsible use of AI across finance processes. This role is available as a 12 month fixed term contract or Permanent contract. You will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Technology and Operations to improve systems, enhance reporting and deliver technology‑enabled solutions that support organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management, development and optimisation of finance systems
  • Oversee system upgrades, enhancements and integrations, working with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Drive process improvement, automation and the adoption of AI‑enabled finance tools
  • Manage the production of monthly management accounts and oversee the Management Accounts team
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy and accessibility of finance data and reporting
  • Develop process documentation, system controls and governance frameworks
  • Deliver user training and support to increase confidence and capability across finance systems
  • Maintain compliance with financial controls, data protection requirements and organisational policies

About You

Essential

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, management accounting and finance systems
  • Experience implementing, upgrading or supporting finance systems and related technologies
  • Proven track record of delivering process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and project management skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
  • Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams

Desirable

  • Experience with Sun Accounting System.
  • Experience using Jedox or similar budgeting and forecasting tools.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualisation platforms.
  • Knowledge of AI‑enabled finance tools and automation solutions.
  • Understanding of data governance and the ethical application of AI within finance.
