About the Service

Our West Dunbartonshire Day Support Services offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment, where each day presents new and unique experiences. We are a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional person-centred care for individuals who are primarily deafblind and have diverse, complex support needs, including some who may not communicate verbally.

Our West Dunbartonshire team works to empower the individuals we support to lead fulfilling, independent lives. We offer tailored support through engaging activities, either in their own homes or out in the community. Our core principle is value-based communication, which ensures that the support we provide aligns with the unique needs and preferences of each individual.

Who Do We Support?

We support individuals who may have a variety of complex support needs, both male and female within the West Dunbartonshire and surrounding area. They have various health conditions, including epilepsy, deaf-blindness, and mobility issues.

In your role, you will provide 1:1 and occasionally 2:1 support, assisting individuals with daily living tasks both at home and during community activities. You’ll assist them in leading happy, meaningful lives, achieving their personal goals, and fulfilling their ambitions. Your role will focus on building trusting relationships and supporting practical tasks, including:

• Assisting with personal care, housekeeping, medication administration, meal preparation, financial support, and providing companionship.
• Collaborating with families and other professionals to ensure the highest quality of care.
• Promoting independence and individuality in accordance with each individual\’s support plan.
• Documenting daily tasks and maintaining accurate records.
• Communicating effectively as part of a team with colleagues, families, and the individuals we support.

The people we support are sociable and enjoy local walks, shopping trips, and visits to the cinema. They look forward to annual holidays and enjoy planning exciting social activities with friends and family, ensuring each day is filled with joy and laughter.

What’s the Shift Pattern?

Our West Dunbartonshire service provides support 7 days a week, from 08:00am to 21:30pm. Shifts include a mix of long and short days, with flexibility to move between services or provide full-day support.
