About the Service
Our 24-hour housing support service in Motherwell provides exceptional, person-centred care to two individuals living in their own homes. Both are primarily deafblind and have complex support needs. Communication is tailored to each individual’s preferences, with speech being just one of many methods used. A consistent routine is essential, and each person has an individualised support plan to ensure their needs are met with the highest standard of care.
The individuals we support have diverse interests, including sensory activities, music sessions, swimming, local walks, long drives, and spending time with family and friends. One particularly enjoys the excitement of attending gigs and shows. In your role, you’ll help them participate in these activities, explore new experiences, and build meaningful connections.
We provide a shared vehicle for transportation, so a valid driving licence is required. You’ll offer 1:1 or 2:1 support throughout the day, assisting with daily living tasks, promoting independence, and supporting them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations, both at home and in the community.
Your responsibilities will include building trusting relationships and assisting with practical tasks such as:
• Personal care, housework, medication administration, meal preparation, financial support and companionship
• Helping to maintain and build relationships and friendships
• Liaising with families and professionals to ensure the highest quality care
• Promoting independence and individuality as outlined in the Support Plan
• Recording daily tasks and maintaining accurate records
• Collaborating with the team, families, and individuals to provide seamless support
At Sense Scotland, we believe in offering more than just care—it’s about creating joy, fostering connection, and enabling meaningful engagement. To support you in your role, we provide comprehensive training and development opportunities, helping you to grow and thrive within our organisation.
You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values empathy, creativity, and a shared commitment to making a difference. Together, we create a positive environment where everyone can flourish.
