SEND Teacher role requirements:
- Experience: 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and / or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
- Approach: Understanding of how to work in a child-centred, holistic way; you will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student-centred way.
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
- Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
- Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.
The SEND Teacher role and responsibilities:
- Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
- Provide in person, online / remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
- Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young persons needs, EHCP, and risk assessment
- Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
