We’re working on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive mainstream school in Burnley to find a nurturing Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEND unit. The Role
You’ll be based within a specialist SEND unit attached to a mainstream primary school, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD and communication or learning difficulties. Working closely with the class teacher and wider support team, you will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support
- Help implement individual education plans (EHCPs)
- Foster a safe, engaging and structured learning environment
- Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
Qualifications and requirements
Minimum qualifications required – A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent). Experience supporting children with SEND. Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities.
