SEN Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to assist in a lovely Specialist school. This is an excellent opportunity for anybody who has a passion for the SEN role and to build their experience.
School hours are 8.30am – 3.30pm we are looking for people who have experience working with children with complex needs. You’ll play an essential role in supporting the teacher and children throughout the day. This rewarding role where you’ll build relationships, help create engaging learning experiences, and support students’ emotional, social and physical development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Have previous experience of work 1-1 and supporting small groups with targeted learning tasks
- Hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Be an excellent communicator
- Be a committed team member but also able to work with independent when required
- Creating a calm, positive learning environment tailored to each pupil’s needs.
The ideal person for the role:
- We are seeking someone that has a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special.
- Can support children with physical or personal needs.
- Can support children within the classroom and support to the class teacher
- Can adapt learning to ensure it suits the needs of the pupil.
- A background in primary, early years, care, health or social work
- Knowledge or experience with SEN environments
- Caring and supportive
- Committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm (Term Time only)
- Full-time or Part Time options available

Pay Rate:£14.60 – £16.90 per hour

If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
