This role is about more than supporting learning. It’s about building relationships, noticing the small wins and helping children and young people feel safe, understood and capable. You’ll work closely with students who have a range of SEND needs, offering calm support throughout the school day and adapting to everyone’s way of learning.

The role involves:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND in the classroom, in small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Helping young people access learning in a way that works for them
  • Providing emotional and behavioural support when needed
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships

We are seeking someone with:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to thrive
  • The ability to stay calm, kind and flexible in different situations
  • A team-focused approach and great communication skills
  • Empathy, dedication and desire to help the children of tomorrow grow

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm, Term – time only.

In return, we offer a supportive environment where your work is valued and your input matters. You’ll be part of a team that understands the impact a caring adult can have on a young person’s life. If you believe every child deserves patience, encouragement and someone who believes in them, we would love to hear from you.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process.
