Sense Education is seeking talented and dedicated support workers to join our growing team and make a real impact on the lives of young learners. Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs?
Role Overview: As a support worker, you’ll assist either Primary or Secondary-aged pupils in the classroom, supporting the teacher as they deliver creative and dynamic lessons tailored to each pupil’s learning needs. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team of educators, healthcare professionals, social workers, and specialists, such as speech and language therapists and OTs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people in their learning and development, both emotionally and physically.
- Help pupils participate in activities aimed at developing their independence, motor skills, cognitive skills, numeracy, and literacy.
- Contribute to sensory lessons, soft play, outdoor activities, swimming, and classroom-based tasks.
- Work alongside the classroom teacher and other support staff to ensure the safety and well-being of pupils.
- Assist with day trips and outings to local attractions and venues.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people or adults with disabilities (previous support work experience is preferred).
- Passionate about helping young people and committed to providing consistent, calm, and compassionate support.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with pupils and the wider staff team.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- A care or support worker qualification is desirable, but not essential.

- Full and part-time positions available (part-time can be 2-3 days per week, flexible).
- School hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, term time.
- Ongoing training and support, including Safeguarding Training.
