We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mainstream SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at a mainstream secondary school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for inclusive education, a strong understanding of SEND needs, and the ability to foster a nurturing environment where every student can thrive. The successful Mainstream SEND Teaching Assistant candidate will work alongside teaching staff to provide support to students with SEND, including those with ASD, ADHD, and a variety of other learning challenges. You will play a key role in helping students engage with their learning, manage their behaviour, and build their confidence. The role includes both one-to-one and small group support, as well as general classroom assistance. Your work will be vital in ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The ideal person and skills/education needed:

  • Hold a relevant degree or minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Have experience working with children with SEND, either professionally or personally.
  • Be confident in supporting students with behaviour management and learning challenges.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a commitment to providing high-quality support to all students.

This role is available on both a full-time and part-time basis. Working hours are from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
