Sense Education Limited

At Sense Education, we’re seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join us as a Disability Support Worker. In this role, you’ll become a vital part of a child’s journey to self-discovery, growth, and independence. Your contribution will shape their present and future, helping them develop confidence and achieve things they never thought possible.

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you believe that every small step can lead to incredible progress? If you’ve worked in care or a similar field and want to bring your skills to the classroom, we want to hear from you. This is your chance to be part of something life-changing.

Your Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be the guiding hand children need to thrive. You’ll support students with SEND to overcome challenges, celebrate their strengths, and grow in every way. Your tasks will include:

  1. Leading sensory and emotional regulation activities to help students focus and feel secure.
  2. Supporting life skills development, from independence to preparation for the future.
  3. Assisting with classroom learning, as well as outdoor explorations and off-site trips to spark curiosity.
  4. Offering support and care during snack and meal times.
  5. Providing personal care when needed, with dignity and compassion.
  6. Enabling communication through alternative methods like AAC and Makaton (training provided).

In this role, you’ll work within a small, supportive team, where every child is treated as an individual. Together, we’ll empower children to achieve their potential, academically, socially, and emotionally.

What We’re Looking For
We need someone who is kind, patient, and motivated by making a difference. Whether you have professional experience or have supported individuals with SEND personally, you’ll bring:

  1. Relevant qualifications in care, health, social care, or education.
  2. Experience supporting children or adults with SEND (professional or personal).
  3. Adaptability, warmth, and a genuine passion for learning and growth.
  4. A willingness to learn new communication methods, like AAC and Makaton (training provided).

If you have a heart for helping others and want to be part of a supportive, dedicated team, this is the role for you.

The School
With a focus on emotional resilience, independence, and life skills, the school creates a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Small class sizes ensure that each student receives the individual support they need, fostering growth both academically and personally. It’s a place where students are empowered to overcome challenges and embrace their full potential in every aspect of their development.

Working Hours
We offer flexible working hours from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. You can choose full-time or part-time hours, with the flexibility to select the number of days that suit your lifestyle.

Why Join Us?

  1. Flexibility to suit your personal schedule.
  2. Competitive pay.
  3. Opportunities for permanent roles after a long-term temporary position.
  4. Access to ongoing training and professional development, including AAC and Makaton.

Step into a role where you can make a lasting difference. As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll not only help children overcome challenges—you’ll empower them to reach their fullest potential and embrace a future filled with confidence and joy. Apply today and be part of something truly transformative.
