Disability Support Worker – School Based

Support, Educate, and Nurture – Make a Difference in the Classroom!

At Sense Education, we’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker who is ready to transfer their valuable skills into the classroom. We currently have both full-time and part-time (flexible days) positions available to start ASAP at a school in the Leeds area. This is an exciting opportunity to support young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and help them achieve their educational, social, and emotional goals.

About the School

The school provides a unique, holistic, and nurturing approach to education, creating an environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered. The staff work closely together, ensuring all pupils’ needs are met with care and attention.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping students with SEND reach their full potential. Your work will involve:

  1. Supporting pupils in class to meet their educational, social, and emotional goals
  2. Assisting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and some who may present with challenging behaviour
  3. Providing tailored support in a highly supportive environment to ensure students can thrive
  4. Collaborating with a dedicated team to ensure every child’s needs are met

Experience with challenging behaviour is advantageous, but above all, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  1. Comes from a support background, with experience working with young people or adults with disabilities
  2. Is deeply passionate about supporting young people to succeed
  3. Demonstrates kindness, empathy, and a caring approach
  4. May have a support qualification or a degree, but most importantly, has a genuine desire to help others
  5. Is eager to learn, with full training and support provided

What We Offer

At Sense Education, we are committed to your growth and success. As part of our team, you will receive:

  1. Comprehensive training, including mandatory Safeguarding Training
  2. Ongoing support to develop your career
  3. A rewarding and impactful role that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of young people

Working Hours: 8.30am to 3.30pm Weekdays only.

If you’re passionate about helping students with SEND, creating a positive impact, and being part of a supportive team, we would love to hear from you.

Apply Today and Join Our Mission to Support, Educate, and Nurture.
