Creative Teaching Assistant
We are looking for enthusiastic and creative Teaching Assistants with backgrounds in Drama, Performing Arts, Dance or the Creative Arts to work in school in special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain experience in education, particularly supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
We are looking for someone to support the teacher working 1-1 with a child with Autism and ADHD. This Teaching assistant role is ideal for enthusiastic individuals with SEND experience. If you have taught or assisted Dance, musical theatre classes and are looking at doing something different, and have creativity and soft skills get in touch!
The school is a welcoming, inclusive and warm environment, with supportive senior leadership, they are looking for someone to work full-time or part time from 8:30- 3:30.
The Role
- Working closely with the teacher to adapt the curriculum to child’s needs
- Encouraging the child back into the classroom
- Understanding the needs of children with SEND
- To help the child build confidence and reach milestones
- Working inside and outside the classroom environment

- A background in early years, care, health, or social work

Qualifications & Skills
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care. (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or Dance Teacher IDTA. RAD, ISTD, LAMDA)
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour

Term time
Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
