The Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting various safety measures that follow company protocol, as well as state and federal laws.
General Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures, regulatory safety in compliance with national and international regulations and regional regulations for the reporting of adverse events to regulatory agencies.
- Participates in the development and preparation of reports for company management as well as external regulatory agencies.
- Assists in the preparation of new product application safety updates, investigational new product safety reports, investigator communications, product labeling/package inserts and other reports as necessary.
- Coordinates the maintenance of records on lost time accidents and prepares appropriate reports.
- May implement hazardous waste control and disposal activities including training, collection, disposal, and records maintenance, as well as conservation programs within the organization.
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in ESH field, NEBOSH qualified.
