We are seeking top technical talent to expand our global engineering team, which is currently 160 engineers across 3 sites, on track to generate over $500m of annual sales. As a systems design engineer supporting the Electrification hardware team, you will work with a cross-functional team to develop these innovative solutions and have an opportunity to influence not only what we build, but how we build it.
General Responsibilities
- Key participant in the design and development of equipment, processes and systems that may include data networks, communications, and display.
- Organizes the recurring analysis of equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design.
- Collaborate with research engineers or scientists and customer representatives to resolve design problems.
- Maintains technical procedures, documentation and manuals.
- May collaborate with technicians and technologists who provide technical support.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands.
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation.
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.
- Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers.
Additional Job Spec Responsibilities:
- Systems engineering for automotive sensing product developments, including requirement engineering, system design, and analysis.
- Working closely with customers, some of the world's biggest automotive manufacturers.
- Performing the role of product owner in a cross functional agile team, working closely with sub system design teams to refine product features.
- Understanding customer technical requirements and expectations, and developing/driving tyre condition assessment solutions from concept to launch.
- Development of specifications and formalized representations of solutions (System architecture, flow charts, models) that meet customer needs.
- Understanding ISO 26262, ASPICE and cyber security and ensuring system development in compliance with these standards.
- Technical support for concept and business case development for new business quotations.
Desirable:
- Knowledge and experience of working in the automotive industry.
- Experience and understanding of system development process to meet automotive or industrial standards (e.g. ISO 26262, ASPICE, CMMI, ISO21434).
- Use of CAN tools such as CANoe and CANdela Studio.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture or other UML tools.
- Experience working in an Agile development framework as a Product Owner using Scrum methodology.
