Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a number of experienced SEND Case Officers to join the Annual Review team of a Midlands Local Authority.

The SEND Case Officers will be responsible for managing and coordinating the annual review process for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring all statutory deadlines and requirements are met.

Essential Requirements
  • A strong knowledge of SEND legislation and guidance particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice (2015).
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working as a SEND Case Officer within a Local Authority.
  • Whilst this role can be worked fully remote, candidates who are able to work 1 day per week in the Midlands office would be highly attractive.
Duties
  • Review Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure they are clear and consistent and that they accurately reflect the child's current needs and provision.
  • Liaise with families, schools, and multi-agency professionals to gather information, facilitate meetings and follow up on any actions and requests.
  • Manage and oversee annual reviews of EHC Plans, working with schools and families to ensure reviews are timely, person-centred, and outcome focused.
Skills Required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with families, schools, and professionals.
  • Excellent attention to detail for quality assuring EHC Plans and maintaining accurate records.
  • Effective organisation and prioritisation skills to manage a busy caseload whilst meeting statutory deadlines.
